I thought having full control would mean I could tweak everything easily, but I'm finding that the more options I have, the more overwhelming it gets. Things like configuring firewalls, optimizing server resources, and setting up custom software environments—it's all a bit much. How do you guys handle this? Do you rely on control panels like cPanel/Plesk, or do you go full command line? Any tips for making customization less of a headache?

If you try to do everything via command line, it can get overwhelming, especially if you're not a sysadmin by trade. I also like the idea of experimenting on a home server first—it’s a low-risk way to test settings before applying them to a live site.
