I had an old, but very favorite dress in my closet. The design seemed cool, but the style was out of fashion, and I didn't want to wear it as before. It was a pity to throw it away, so I decided to try to change something. In the end I shortened it, added a belt and sewed a little on the sides - it turned out to be a completely different dress! It looks fresh and modern. Now I'm thinking that maybe other things can be altered too. Has anyone else done this? What changes can be made to make it look new?

Well, now this is an awe-inspiring way to add fresh life to an old dress! I have done some of the works like changing button styles, necklines, adding embroidered patches, and all such stuff in some of my dresses. So if you are interested in doing it yourself, I suggest you use some embroidery digitizing services to convert your designs into your own clothes. This just really makes it special and gives the impression of something old made new. I used what I believe to be the best digitizing embroidery service found online, and the jacket turned into a completely different piece. And there's so much more you can do to upcycle clothing rather than go out and buy new. Keep trying. It's so much fun and good for the Earth!
